Get started with Under 7 Hockey

Under 7's hockey is a fun and exciting way to get involved in playing the great game of Hockey, for children under the age of 7. 

Under 7s hockey provides children aged 7 and under with an opportunity to participate in Hockey, in a fun and safe atmosphere, with modified rules on a smaller sized playing area.

This program is ideal for 4-7 year olds, who are new to the sport and keen to learn new things. The structure gives kids the best opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.

Please note the session timings below:

U7 Hockey – 9:30 AM Start
• Game 1: 9:30 AM – 9:42 AM (12 minutes)
• Break: 9:42 AM – 9:44 AM (2 minutes)
• Game 2: 9:44 AM – 9:56 AM (12 minutes)

Total session time: 26 minutes

Structure

• 2 x 12 minute halves  – approx. 8 aside
• Quarter field
• Coaches enforce basic rules – foot and back stick

• Albury/Wodonga at the Albury Hockey Centre – from 9:30am–10:00am starting on Saturday 3rd May and running through Terms 2 & 3
• Corowa – Thursdays 4.30-5.30pm
• Wangaratta – Thursdays 4.30-5.30pm

It is COMPULSORY for all juniors to wear a mouthguard when training and playing games. You can purchase mouthguards from the canteen on a Saturday morning during the season or from your local pharmacy or sports store. HockeyWorld has a store onsite that can help you with mouthguards and all of your other Hockey equipment needs.
